Obituary for Elizabeth Clayton

Elizabeth Clayton was born, the third child of Clarence Clayton Sr. and Elizabeth (Gaines) Clayton on November 2, 1927 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. In 1928 the family moved to Detroit Michigan, where she resided until God called her home July 2, 2020.

Elizabeth grew up in the family church Shiloh Baptist and attended Detroit Public Schools, where she graduated from North Eastern High School. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and playing the piano. In her life she was a Mother and Homemaker and worked as waitress, substitute teacher and an Avon salesperson.

She is survived by one sister, Gloria Strong; three children, Bettyann Furgueson, Christina Clayton and Donald Clayton; seven grandchildren, Nick (Michael) Storm, Charles Furgeson, Joseph White, Christina Smith, Angela Clayton, DJ Clayton, Gabrielle Clayton; two great-grandchildren, J’Nyah Clayton and D’Ayrah Clayton and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her brothers, Clarence Jr., Nathaniel, Samuel and Robert.
